Would you like to work remotely with Google? I have good news: there are a lot of opportunities to make money and work from home with Google!
In my opinion, there are two tech giants that are significantly changing the way we do things: Amazon and Google.
Just think back to the time when you had to purchase a license to download Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to your computer. Nowadays, everyone uses Google Docs for these features, and it’s completely free! My guess is that you also use Google’s top solutions from the Chrome web browser, Google Workspace, Calendar, Maps, Fiber, and YouTube in some shape or form every day.
With Google involved in almost every aspect of your digital life, it’s no surprise that it needs a massive workforce to continue to innovate and dominate the tech sector.
Here are ten legit work from home jobs with Google.
1. Evaluation of the quality of Google Ads
Search engines like Google and Bing hire individuals to work from home and check the relevance of online ads against keywords entered in a search query. While Google has sophisticated algorithms to correctly place ads with the right keywords, it also employs people to double-check that those keywords and ads are relevant.
Ad reviewers are not hired directly through Google, but through contract companies such as TELUS Digital, Welocalize, and Datavio.ai hires for Bing. These positions require a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Gmail, and a computer, laptop, and smartphone. Ad rates earn an average of $25 per hour, according to this post on Glassdoor.com.
One thing to note about these jobs is that they are independent contract roles, which means you are responsible for paying self-employment taxes, but they offer flexible work schedules.
2. Monetization with Google AdSense
If you have a website or blog, you can apply to participate in the Google Adsense program and earn money by displaying Google ads on your site. In the early days of blogging, I used AdSense and used it to earn around $100 per month.
To qualify for this program, you must own your domain name and hosting, have original and high-quality content, have a privacy policy and other standard pages, and be 18 years of age or older. To find out how much you can earn using Google’s advertising platform, enter your traffic and site niche into their earnings calculator located on their website’s home page.
If you haven’t started your blog yet, never fear; I have a simple step-by-step guide to guide you through the entire process.
3. Google Certified Publisher – Raptive
If you create great content and have high traffic, you can become a Google Certified Publisher with Raptive (formerly AdThrive). I have been working with Raptive since 2015 and they are amazing! I never thought I could make good money from an ad network, but I was wrong. Today, my ad revenue makes up about a third of my total blogging revenue.
With Raptive, you must apply for consideration and meet the following requirements:
- 100,000 page views per month
- Most of your traffic comes from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand
- 100% original, high quality content
- You must have Google Analytics installed on your website
Once approved for the program, Raptive will develop an advertising strategy for your website and place, track and optimize your ads to maximize earnings. Payouts are distributed once a month.
Of course, Raptive isn’t the only Google Certified Publisher; here is a list of other certified Google publishing partners.
4. YouTube Video Creator
In November 2006, Google bought the popular video site YouTube and that’s a crazy smart move! Today, YouTube is the second most popular website after Google itself. If you are into video making, you can make crazy money as a YouTube video publisher. Just like blogging, you will need to create original video content and upload it to YouTube.
To start monetizing your videos with AdSense, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Have at least 1,000 subscribers
- Over 4,000 hours of viewing in the last 12 months
- Follow the YouTube Partner Program Policy
The nice thing about making money on YouTube is that you don’t have to invest any money up front. If you have an internet connection, a smartphone with a video camera, and some talent or expertise to share, you can start creating content. In fact, many famous musicians and stars have been discovered because of their YouTube content.
Just like blogging, you can monetize your channel through various methods such as affiliate marketing, selling products and merchandise, and sponsorships. You also don’t need a degree or a certain number of years of experience. If you have the drive and passion for creating video content, this can be a lucrative and fun way to work from home with Google!
5. Search Engine Evaluator
Another distant position at Google is acting as a search engine evaluator. Similar to the Ad Rater position, in this role you will evaluate search engine results to ensure the results are relevant and of high quality. You can find these jobs on TELUS Digital and Welocalize.
According to FlexJobs, compensation for these freelance contract roles is $17 per hour and you will have flexible hours. Similar to Ad Rater positions, you need to be web-savvy, familiar with Google products, and up-to-date on current trends. No previous experience is required for these positions; However, you must complete an online application and pass an initial assessment before working on projects.
6. Google User Experience Survey
If you love Google products and features, the Google User Experience Survey can be a fun way to earn small rewards. Just register as a participant and when studies that match your profile become available, you will be sent an invitation and what the reward is for participating. Research studies are conducted in a variety of locations including their travel van, their home offices, online or even in your home! Rewards are generally gift cards from major retailers and Visa. If you try this one, I’d love to hear how you get on!
7. Rewards for Google Opinions
Another way to express your opinion about products and services is to download the Google Opinion Rewards app (available for Android and Apple devices). For every survey you complete, you’ll earn a small stipend that you can redeem for cash via PayPal or Google Play credits. You won’t make a lot of money with this app, but it’s an easy and legitimate way to add a little extra money to your wallet.

Google has in-person and remote jobs and hires from around the world. When you search for these jobs on their site, add your location and check the job filters that are remotely eligible.
These jobs generally require prior experience and a bachelor’s degree; however, they do have openings for interns pursuing a degree. In some positions, equivalent practical experience is accepted instead of a diploma. Since Google owns YouTube, Fitbit, GFiber, Waymo, Google Cloud and more, there are positions in almost every field and occupation.

10. Expert on Google Ads
Another home-based job at Google is that of a Google Ads specialist, often called a paid search specialist or a PPC specialist. For these marketing positions, you’ll likely need a degree in marketing, advertising, business or communications and experience running paid advertising on behalf of companies. Companies of all sizes are hiring for this position, so you can search for remote work on sites like Indeed, LinkedIn, and FlexJobs, or check out marketing and advertising agencies for these positions. If you work in marketing and want to expand your skills in this field, you can get a digital marketing certification from Google on Coursera.
Beware of work-at-home scams
While there are many legitimate ways to directly and indirectly work from home with Google, you need to be aware of scammers promoting fake opportunities using the Google name.
Not long ago, a company advertised a deceptive opportunity called Easy Google Profit that had nothing to do with Google. It was some kind of scheme where you had to pay money up front for some vague information.
When looking for work from home jobs, be sure to do your due diligence and thoroughly research the company by reading reviews on sites like Glassdoor, Indeed, Trustpilot, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Legitimate companies will list your job duties, so if the job description is vague, it could be a red flag that it’s a scam. Also look for a professional email address; scammers tend to use free Gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo addresses to contact unsuspecting job seekers.
